OverviewThe Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the youth of the community. By providing a safe place to learn and grow, as well as life enhancing programs and character developing experiences; the club strives to enable all members, regardless of circumstance, to realize their full potential as caring, responsible and productive members of the community.
With nineteen locations throughout the county, the Boys & Girls Club programs serve a diverse group of kids age 5-18. The over 4800 members come from a variety of backgrounds, although special effort is made to reach out to those children from disadvantaged circumstances.
Families and communities need positive alternatives for young people: after school care, leadership development opportunities, tutoring, and teen activities . . .
They Need a Boys & Girls Club! Facts The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County has over 4800 members and serves just over 5000 ki ds a year. Girls make up 50% of the Club members in St. Lucie County. The Club members are racially diverse; 43% Caucasian, 30% African American and 16% Hispanic. In a neighborhood where failure and dropout are expected, 38% of our members made the honor roll at their school, 40% had PERFECT attendance and only one student failed a course. - Michael Jordan, Evander Holyfield, President Clinton, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Smokey Robinson and Shaquile O'Neal are just a few notable Boys and Girls Club Alumni.
